KINGFISHER support going back to the Land.

They have just created a new fence, to allow local women Binta Jatta to grow Okra without having cows, coats and sheep spoiling her garden. She spent many weeks to get the garden going, and the founder of Kingfisher Trust lives next to this land, decided to fund this project himself. In addition he has made a new bridge and concrete path to replace the local footpath though the swamp land next to Kotu stream, this path is usually impossible to use during the rainy season. Kingfisher which has been having a difficult time getting sponsorship money, due to adverse publicity is now applying for charitable status for NONVISION.Org to fund its work providing computer software for the blind and visually impaired, so they can access the internet, send and receive emails. The present free internet cafe is now used to train teachers, so they can help school children, not only blind, but also sighted students who have difficulty reading English text, but can now see the text and hear.

Goal

This projects will meet the strategic objectives of policies and actions of The Gambia Government to promote sustainable livelihoods and sound policies for pro-poor economic growth. It also falls under the category of
